The mechanics of a hard disk drive found in a laptop are identical to those found in larger desktop PCs, however, these are obviously much smaller due to the reduced size and space limitations of the machine they are typically fitted into.
The smaller size of the hard disk drives makes the task of data recovery all the more intricate, but here at EADR we are fully equipped, ready and highly experienced to work with any data loss scenario from these ever evolving storage devices.
Accidental damage to your laptop hard drive is all too easy; by their very nature laptops are carried around with us and accidents do happen. The most common reason for failure is impact, which to us would seem only a teeny little bump but to your data stored on a delicate laptop hard drive could spell disaster! Liquid ingress can also be very damaging to a hard drive, and time is of the essence in recovering data from this type of failure. We would strongly recommend swift action and to contact an expert in data recovery, should this occur.
Another layer which can be added into laptop data recovery is encryption, which is becoming more and more popular with portable devices.
The encryption can take form via third party software, system bios or indeed, on portable hard disk drives, via an encrypting USB bridge.
Recovery from encrypted laptop hard drives, although time consuming, is not impossible but in ALL cases we would need to verify ownership and indeed, confirm passwords or recovery keys that have been used to encrypt the device.

PLEASE READ
It is the responsibility of the customer (sender) to ensure that the device being submitted for data recovery is packaged securely and correctly. The best way to do this is to wrap your item in plenty of bubble wrap, and place it in a small, suitably sized cardboard box for a snug fit. The aim is to avoid the drive moving about in transit.
The cardboard box should be plain and unmarked, apart from our address details. If you do use a recycled box, then any previous writing, address labels, bar codes or logos must be completely obscured with packing tape or permanent marker pen. Finally, please ensure that you have filled in and enclosed one of our shipping forms (available on our website). If you do not have access to a printer then we will require an absolute minimum of your name, address and contact details on a sheet of paper inside the box. We cannot accept responsibility for packages received without this basic information included.
EADR can arrange a collection for you using a recognised National Courier Service, however, this is a no frills, next working day service and is chargeable at £25. This offers tracking only and no liability insurance whatsoever, and you fully understand that if accepted will be undertaken completely at your own risk. EADR Ltd cannot and will not accept any responsibility or liability should your item be lost or damaged whilst in transit.
